Echo: Unbroken Truth Worth Repeating Again w/ Jonathan Fisk Ep. 48

Echo

Pastor Jonathan Fisk’s new book Echo: Unbroken Truth Worth Repeating Again has hit the market, and you need a copy. Fisk has seen the glazed-over eyes of one too many Christians as the truths we hold dear are repeated week in and week out.

This book will act as an electrical shock to your fading Christian heartbeat, or if you are on fire for the Lord, this will be a shot of high-octane gas on your flames. Whatever your place in the Church, you can use a reminder, a wake-up call, no… a call to worship like Echo.

Join Adam and Jonathan for a little theology pick-me-up.

From Concordia Publishing House’s website:

Christianity is not the ability to memorize or recite from books of Scripture or doctrine. It is not magic. It is not social club, counseling group, or self-help support group. It does not promise that you will be healthy, wealthy, wise, or even happy.

Christianity is a truth—a truth first heard at the beginning of time that has echoed to this present age. A truth so profound that no man can master it, yet even a child can learn it.

Jonathan Fisk introduces his readers to that truth. He lays it out as simply as a child counts to ten on his fingers. Yet, training to hear the Echo, the reader will come to understand the wisdom that Fisk imparts is bottomless.

Fisk teaches nothing less than the distilled, unbreakable Christian Echo, the very thing which has radically changed humanity in every nation and tongue that it has ever been repeated. It the most astoundingly complete description of what life is and why it is worth living. And it’s worth repeating. Again.

Christ in All of Scripture: What’s it Have to Do with Race? Ep. 31

Tower of Babel and race racism

Adam interviews Lutheran pastor Brian Kachelmeier, a frequent guest on Lutheran Public Radio’s flagship program, Issues, Etc. (which you all need to check out).

We talk about Genesis, especially the Tower of Babel in chapter 11, and how Christ in all of Scripture is relevant to even questions of race and ethnicity in 2017.

Will you please consider even a small show of financial support to this show? As Adam’s first child will be born very soon, he has to scale back anything and everything that may compete with his time in a non-productive way. This show is not drawing 10’s of thousands of listens, but there have been several thousand, and none of it could have happened without the faithful support of a few gracious friends. Thank you all, and please be sure to share this podcast!

Theology & Race: Lutheran Views with Rev. Jonathan Fisk Ep. 28

Jonathan Fisk has been one of my favorite Christian worldview thinkers over the past five years, and I know many of you understand why I say that. His YouTube show Worldview Everlasting never takes itself too seriously, but always brings the full weight of the Christian religion: uncut, full-blooded, and cross-centered.

So I knew I had to get him on the show to talk worldview; I knew we needed the Most Lutheran Man in the World® to help me navigate from theology to the Christian worldview on race.

Jonathan is the author of Broken: 7 “Christian” Rules that Every Christian Ought to Break as Often as Possible, has published copiously on YouTube, is an on-air personality at KFUO St. Louis, and the host of the podcast RevFisk: Raw, among other things.

Will you do one or all of these three important parts of supporting the show?

  1. Spread the podcast! Give it out on social media, email, to family and friends.
  2. Donate! This work isn’t free, and Adam needs supporters to give generously to underwrite the work that goes into this program! Click here.
  3. Send encouraging feedback here! Questions and comments always welcome here or find me on Twitter.

Thank you all.
